Our Priorities

01

Countering Influence Operations

Fosters evidence-based policymaking for governments and platforms to counter threats in the information environment.

02

Immigration

Supports a range of groups working on immigration issues, from local and state organizations providing frontline legal advice to individuals seeking asylum or facing deportation.

03

Criminal Justice Reform

Acts as a global advocate for justice systems and policing that treat everyone equally, and which reduce unnecessary and punitive use of incarceration.

Regional Programs

Canada Regional Human Rights Program

Addresses human rights issues in Canada — the placement of children in immigration detention, prolonged solitary confinement, and abuses linked to overseas operations of Canadian extractive and apparel companies.

Mexico Regional Human Rights Program

Documents serious and widespread violations by police, prosecutors, the military, and criminal groups — arbitrary detention, torture, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, abuses against migrants, and attacks on journalists and defenders.

US Regional Immigration Program

Focuses on reforming harsh, outdated, and ineffective detention and deportation policies to account for family unity, flight from persecution, and labor considerations — exposing unsafe working conditions and the impact of inflexible immigration policy on citizens and non-citizens alike.
